Update post.

I apologize for my long hiatus from updates. Admittedly, I'm not approaching George R R Martin territory or anything, but it's been a while without any indication of progress. So, let's get down to the updating!

The first book of my Ghost Girls series is in the final stretch. The cover is in progress and is estimated to be finished in the next couple of days. Final copy editing is also in progress. I've already got most of the skeleton stuff completed in the Amazon interface, so it will just be a matter of inputting the final cover and edited text.

On an unrelated note, I'm having a December sale on my first Short Story Six-Pack. From December 14th through 20th, it will be available for just 99c instead of the usual cover price. If you haven't already read my debut volume of short stories, this would be a perfect time to check it out.

The Short Story Half-Pack is now available. It's a 3-story collection that is free to newsletter subscribers. None of these stories are duplicates from any of the Short Story Six-Packs, but they feature more quirky, imaginative fun all the same.

Update post.

I've had a couple of professional reviews of my most recent short story collection posted recently. One even made the web site's front page.

Admittedly, the reviewers shared what they didn't like as well as what they did like. We're all so different as readers, though, it's unlikely you'll ever hit someone else's preferences 100%.

For example, one reviewer's top criticism is that my endings don't always wrap things up neatly but leave lingering questions in the reader's mind. I can't argue with that, but I've also got a couple of Amazon reviews that point out the very same thing as something that reader really enjoyed.

Oh, speaking of reviews, I put up another couple of reader reviews in the details section of my books. Feel free to check out what other readers are saying.

And most importantly of all when it comes to reviews, please leave me reviews! It means a lot to me when I read your feedback on Amazon or Goodreads, and it helps other readers find my books, too.

Update post.

I'm made significant progress on the third Short Story Six-Pack this month. It's possible I'll even have the rough draft completed within the week. There are still plenty of other steps in the process (beta reading, editing, publishing stuff, etc.), but it feels good to be moving forward.

I'm also moving forward with the novel. Progress has slowed a bit. It feels much easier and more natural to pump out short stories instead. I'm committed to finishing it and publishing it, though. Wish me luck!

I'm starting to lose track of how many times I've applied for a Goodreads author page, but it keeps getting rejected. They've got access to my Amazon page, my Facebook page, and now this custom author page. I can't believe the process is so rigorous for Indie authors to claim their books. I mean, why would someone even try to claim a non-famous author's Goodreads page? What possible motivation could they have?
